How do you make a website with Carrd?
You start on carrd.com with one of Carrd's templates or a blank page. The editor opens right away, without an account. In…
Yes. Carrd has a free plan with no end date, and you don't need a card to sign up. For my Carrd review, I built a one-page website for a made-up translator on the free plan and published it without paying anything. On the free plan, you can publish up to three sites on a carrd.co address. Each one shows a small "Made with Carrd" link and can't have a form. The cheapest paid plan, Pro Lite, removes the link for $9 a year. Forms and your own domain need Pro Standard at $19 a year.
I built the site on October 23, 2026, and looked at the free plan and the prices again on November 3, 2026.
Carrd calls its free plan Basic. On Carrd's plan page, Basic costs "$0 / year" and has "No end date". My translator site has been online on the free plan since October 23.
You can start building without an account. Carrd asks for one the first time you save, and the sign-up form has no field for a card. Before you can publish, you have to click the link in Carrd's verification email.
A free site gets an address like tollmere.carrd.co. It shows a "Made with Carrd" link at the bottom of the page.
The three sites include the ones you haven't published yet. Each site can have up to 50 elements. An element is one piece of the page, like an image or a button. My finished page used 32 of them. Images and GIFs can be up to 2 MB.
Of Carrd's 328 templates, 206 work on the free plan.
On the free plan, you can't add a form in the editor. When I clicked the Form element, Carrd asked me to upgrade to Pro Standard. Without a form, visitors can still reach you through an email link or a phone number on the page.
Your own domain also needs Pro Standard. Carrd doesn't sell domains, so you register one somewhere else and connect it.
When I had three sites and clicked "New Site", Carrd showed "Out of sites :(". It asked me to change my plan or delete a site.

| Up to 25 sites | Pro Plus | $49a year |
You pay once a year, with PayPal or a card.
You can try Pro for free for seven days, without a card. The trial includes forms and many other Pro features.
During the trial, I added a form for price requests to a copy of my site. Then I let the trial run out. Carrd sent two reminders before the end and an email when the trial ended on October 30. After that, I was back on the free plan without doing anything.
On November 3, that copy was still online. The form was gone from the live page, and the "Made with Carrd" link was back. In the editor, the form was still there. Nothing in the dashboard said that it no longer worked.
The free plan is enough for a page with your links or a short introduction.
For a business, the free plan works as long as an email link is enough for people to contact you. Once you want a contact form or your own domain, plan for Pro Standard.
