If your Windows File Explorer is unusually slow when browsing folders or scrolling, but fast inside "Save As" dialogs, the cause may be third-party shell extensions.
Many applications (for example, cloud storage or version control tools) add shell extensions to the right-click menu or folder icons. Some of these can make Explorer much slower.
Explorer should now be fast again. Re-enable extensions one at a time if needed to find the one causing the slowdown.
